Waterfall Parks if located off Merriam Dr with park of the park owned by Johnson Country Parks Department and City of Merriam to create the 15 acre park. This park was the original home of the Merriam Farmers Market until the Marketplace was built years later. It is named for the waterfall you can see created by Turkey Creek and the trail that runs by the creek. They have installed a nice bench over looking the waterfall and the train bridge. Since the area has been having lots of rain the waterfall was following nicely.
This park also features two little kid soccer fields, two traditional size soccer fields, a water fountain grill, picnic tables, and benches.
Waterfall Park Playground Features
Playground features include 3 slides, one of the slide is a shorter double curved side perfect for smaller kids. The other two slide is circle slide, and a taller slightly curved slide. There are two sets of monkey bars, a music play thing, and tic tac toe. There is a rock mountain and a circle rope tower to climb. While there are benches on the play surface, there is not much shade at this park. Understandable as soccer and trees on the field don’t get along. 🙂 There is a small shade structure that is over parts of the playground. This play area also features two traditional swings and two baby swings.
One nice feature is that the picnic tables all surround the grill located close to the little soccer fields and the playground. There was also green space to just play and run.
Nothing beats a nice day at the park, have you been to this park before? Leave a comment below to let me know.
